Accessibility Statement
Digital Accessibility
Our Commitment
Our goal is to provide you – regardless of the individual needs you may have – with unrestricted access to our digital offerings.
Status of Compliance with Requirements
Implemented Measures
We have already implemented the following measures to improve your accessibility on our website:
Responsive Web Design: Our website is optimized for various output devices (smartphone, tablet, desktop computer) thanks to responsive web design. The content elements are automatically formatted so that you can read them as easily as possible, and they adjust to the respective display size. Additionally, we have ensured sufficient contrast in the design.
Keyboard Navigation: You can navigate the main menu using the keyboard (Tab key, arrow keys). Interactive elements are accessible and usable for you via keyboard.
Structure and Semantics
- All pages have meaningful page titles
- The language of the page is declared in the markup
- The HTML markup used is standards-compliant
- Headings are mostly hierarchically structured
- Links have meaningful labels
Accessibility for Assistive Technologies
- Alternative texts for informative images
- Sufficient color contrasts
- Support for screen readers
Non-accessible content
The contents listed below are not accessible for the following reasons:
- Incompatibility with accessibility regulations
Texts and understandability: We strive to create our texts largely without abbreviations and foreign words and avoid convoluted sentence structures. If you find any text unclear, please provide us with feedback.
Contrast issues: Occasionally occurring contrast issues are limited to: small individual areas that do not diminish your basic understanding of the website, cookie banners that overlay existing content, and external content from third-party providers.
Multimedia content: Not all videos have subtitles or audio descriptions.
PDF documents: Older PDF documents may not be fully accessible.
Disproportionate burden
- Content from third parties: Our website partially uses content and services from third parties (e.g., online booking systems). We cannot make a complete statement regarding the compatibility with accessibility regulations for this content, as it is beyond our control.
Legacy content: A subsequent complete adaptation of all existing content, especially older PDF documents and multimedia content, would pose a disproportionate burden. - Alternative contact options are available to you:

Note on Accessibility
We strive to implement the accessibility of this website as best as possible within the technical possibilities and legal requirements. We cannot guarantee complete accessibility, particularly for complex or dynamic content as well as for the integration of external tools (e.g., booking systems, widgets, forms).
According to Article 5 of Directive (EU) 2016/2102 as well as § 15 para. 2 WZG, deviations from certain requirements may be allowed if their implementation involves disproportionate effort. The legitimate economic interest of the website operator must also be taken into account.
We continuously review and improve accessibility, but we cannot provide you with a legally binding guarantee for the completely accessible implementation of all content.

If you are not satisfied with the responses from the aforementioned contact option, you can submit a complaint to the complaints office of the Österreichische Forschungsförderungsgesellschaft mit beschränkter Haftung (FFG). The FFG accepts complaints electronically via the contact form of the complaints office.
The complaint form of the FFG
The complaints will be examined by the FFG to determine whether they pertain to violations of the provisions of the Web Accessibility Act, particularly deficiencies in compliance with accessibility requirements, by the federal government or an entity associated with it.
If your complaint is justified, the FFG is required to issue recommendations for action to the federal government or the affected legal entities and suggest measures to rectify the existing deficiencies.
With the coming into force of the Accessibility Act (BaFG) on June 28, 2025, you will be able to address violations of accessibility requirements to the Sozialministeriumservice as the market supervision authority.
